Faith & Practice Coordinating Team

The purposes and responsibilities of this coordinating  team.:

 As Christ’s disciples we are called to put our faith into practice by reaching out and ministering to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the church community which encompasses the local, national, and international projects.   Our ministry teams provide the personal leadership to accomplish these goals and include:  Social Justice, Environmental Justice, Community Outreach,   College Outreach, Mission Education and Dial a Ride.

 Accomplishments from this program year:

a. We provided financial support for three of our church congregation who were attending seminary:  Judy Schlabach, Cheryl Miller and Ted Sharp.

b. We provided leadership in getting approval for the church’s manse to be transformed into a mental health facility  (MOCA) under the supervision of the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes Counties.

c. We set up a monthly schedule for items to be donated by our church  members to benefit the People to People Ministry program.

d. We held an Alternative Christmas Market in our church in December to provide funds for self help groups around the world.

e. In October we hosted a missionary, Nancy Collins, who is now serving as PC(USA)’s East Central Africa Regional Liaison.  She emphasized the need for each congregation to establish a close and enduring relationship with at least one missionary in the field.  Our coordinating team decided to adopt Nancy Collins as well as John and Gwen Haspels as special       interest missionaries for our congregation.
