Session

First Presbyterian Church of Wooster, Ohio is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Synod of the Covenant and the Muskingum Valley Presbytery. During the 2009-2010 program year (June 2009 – May 2010), a Session elder was commissioned to attend each of the four quarterly presbytery meetings.

Session is charged by the Book of Order of the PC(USA) with the oversight of the local congregation's governance and mission and to provide spiritual leadership.

Elders are elected to three-year terms. The 2009-2010/2010-2011 Session roster:

The Rev. Jeff Paschal served as Moderator of Session. Also regularly attending Session meetings during this year were The Rev. Emily Krause Corzine;  The Rev. Charles Cureton, The Rev. James Watt (Parish Associates); Mary Alice Streeter (Treasurer); Judy Schlabach (Director of Children's Ministry) and Nancy Young (Clerk).

During 2009-2010, Session met 12 times in regularly scheduled monthly meetings; called 4 Special Session meetings, 1 congregational meeting and 1 Annual Congregational meeting.

During the 2009-2010 program year

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was celebrated 14 times.

The Sacrament of Baptism was administered to 1 child

4 members transferred out of the church at their own request

14 people became members of the church

7 youth were confirmed as members of the church

The total Active Membership of the church for the 2009 fiscal year (January-December 2009) was 458
