Labor Day Weekend at Pleasant Hill Out

Join New Connections for Family Camping
The New Connections group would like to invite you to join us for our fall kick-off event at Pleasant Hill! We plan join the camp’s annual family camp on Saturday & Sunday, September 5-6.
Saturday activities range from rigorous to relaxing and include biking on Rails to Trails path, outdoor games, basketball, walking/hiking, swimming in the lake, campfire chats. The Climbing wall/ rappelling, “slip and slide” water slide, and the mountain bikes will be available from 1-5pm on Saturday. The camps’ pontoon boat will also be available depending on weather. A simple outdoor worship service will be held on Sunday along with a hike.
For those of you who are familiar with Pleasant Hill, the Outpost area serves as the main gathering area. It is a large, open, grassy field surrounded by woods. There is a campfire surrounded by covered picnic tables in the center and space for activities/games and tents around the edges. Indoor flush bathrooms are nearby, and showers are available.
Overnight options are tent/RV camping at the Outpost or in cabins (with bunks & bathrooms w/showers) near the lodge. New this year are four full hookup RV pads, in the new volunteer campground area. You may also choose to come for Saturday only, or the entire weekend from Friday to Monday. We will be jointly preparing Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and lunch together over the fire. You are also welcome to bring whatever you want to eat, and will need to provide your own food if staying for the extended period.
Pleasant Hill less than an hour drive southwest of Wooster. See more at http://www.phoc.org/index.htm. Donations to the camp are appreciated for this event ($20-60 per family/ night suggested).
Interested families and individuals should contact Gregg Short (330-465-7531, gregg@gshort.com) for more information or to let us know you’re coming by Sept. 1. We currently have one cabin reserved, and cabin space will be tighter this year as there are some other groups on campus. We need your RSVP’s ASAP if you want space in a cabin or to use one of the RV pads. Other camping space is always available to pop a tent or use the Conestoga wagons at Outpost.
Come on down for some end-of-summer family fun together!
P.S. While this event is primarily for the Connections group, the camp is open to everyone over the Labor Day Weekend (Friday 9/4 – Monday 9/7), so feel free to come enjoy the Camp!
