Dear Friends,
My article this month consists of brief updates.
First of all, the session has approved the search for a Christian Educator/Children’s Ministry
Director. As I write these words, the Church Information Form (our advertisement and resume) is being finalized for session approval and circulation on the PC(USA) website. The position will be either 3/4 time or full-time, depending upon the candidate we finally feel called by God to select.
Please pray for God’s guidance in our search process.
Second, the goal-setting team has completed church goals and they will be submitted for session approval in June. After session approval, the goals will be placed in the pews, on our website, etc. I celebrate that 175 of our members took part in the spiritual discernment process that helped us discover God’s vision for First Presbyterian Church, and I’m excited about the focus and energy these goals promise to provide as we serve as instruments of God’s love and peace.
Third, Christ’s Kids’ Club concluded for the summer with an amazing talent show, and a
beautiful liturgy and laying-on of hands prayer for the Club “graduates.” Many thanks to all the wonderful Kids’ Club volunteers and a special thank you to Interim Children’s Ministry Director, Carol Vagnini for a tremendous spring 2010 with the children.
Fourth, don’t forget that on May 30 we move to our summer schedule: 10:00 a.m. for worship and 11:00 a.m. for adult education. The Adult Christian Education Team, under Betty Shull’s fine leadership, is planning some thought-provoking and faith-deepening studies for the summer. I hope to see you there.
